Ella in the Zoo 11:03 AM

Last Tuesday I took off the day at work so I could go on Ella's very first school trip! We headed off to the Brantford Zoo (I have NO idea they had one!). We had a BLAST!!! It was super-fun, the girls were simply adorable, and the zoo was great too. (I'm sooo going back with Rick and all the kids!)

Here is Ella ready for her FIRST school trip!

Since it was so reasonably priced - I got Ella and Taryn both a mask - they were so cute!

Ella and some of her friends

Posers!

Taryn was exhausted, she fell asleep on the way home. It was adorable, she kept falling out into the aisle, and the parent in the seat next to her kept pushing her back up...!! LOL!!!

Fun day - can't wait to do it again!

Relay for Life...oops! 10:55 AM

Friday night (it's been a busy week!) Ella, Max and I went to the Relay for Life with my work. Our 'theme' was robots. My boss made all the corrugated robots, and everyone had to decorate their own. It was really cute altogether! Steve made 2 smaller robots (without the heads, because they would simply NOT last!) for my kidlets, and I printed out some robot stickers for them to decorate. What fun!!

Just after 9pm, I figured it was time to go. The kids has been wonderfully behaved, but were getting tired. So we gathered up all our stuff, and started to walk (against the grain) out of the stadium to the car. Max was very tired, but was walking along the white line, when - WHAM! A little girl (maybe four years old?) ran right into him.
At first I didn't think it was too big of a deal, they both fell down, and he was bleeding a tiny bit from his lip, but nothing bad. THEN I looked up at his eye, which was quickly puffing up bigger and bigger right before my eyes. Someone quickly suggested we should get an ice pack on it, so we scooped up all of our stuff and headed to see the paramedics. They were wonderful!!! While the woman was tending to Max, the man played with Ella's bean bag game to keep her occupied. When we were all finally settled, I scooped up my poor tired Max (with a cold compress hung on his head by a bandage thing) and headed for the van. He was so tired he immediately feel asleep, I think the moment I put him in his seat. Poor guy!

Saturday morning he woke up and came upstairs claming: "I feel better Mommy!". Yeah! :)

Rib Fest! 10:41 AM

Ugh! I hate it when I upload pictures backwards!! You'd think I'd remember by now, and do it properly...DUH!!! ;)

Anywhoo...this past Thursday night Rick was working late, so Mom, Dad and I took the kidlets downtown Ingersoll for Ribfest! Mmm...(although I barely remember tasting the ribs?) I'm pretty sure they were good. The kids LOVED them!

After we ate, then we got to do the 'stuff'!! (The BEST part don't 'cha know!) Here is Ella and Max (I guess you were supposed to let the ppl take the pic, and give a donation, but I didn't know until after - oops!)

Baby Z, chillin' in her stroller (for now)

Grandpa decided to get in on the action...

Ella all painted!

Max with his piggy balloon hat! (That we had to wait FOREVER for!)

Can you just hear it? "Excuse me Nana, I'm getting my picture taken." *insert attitude here*

Ella's turn in the stroller...

Now Max's...

Ahhh...off for a drink at Dino's, and we discovered Zoe can drink from a straw! Yeah!!! :)

Crazy Max

Are these ppl related? Oh my....!

Ella's birthday 'Tea Party' 5:22 PM

Wow, what a crazy few days!! Glad we have a break, for a bit anyway!

Today was Ella's birthday party - with just her little girly-friends. It was a 'Tea Party' Birthday party! I have to say - I had a BLAST organizing it. Oh, how I love parties, and organizing!!!

So to start off with - the invite:

The invite was kind of like a book:

***********************************************************************
Once upon a time there was a little girl named Ella. She had beautiful blue eyes, long blonde curly hair and she loved being fancy. She loved getting dressed up in very fancy clothes, putting on her most fancy jewellery and eating the fanciest foods.
One day Ella wanted to have a fancy tea party, so she asked her mom. Do you know what her mother said? YES! She told Ella to invite her very good friends to dress up in their very fanciest clothes, put on their most fancy jewellery, and come over for the fanciest birthday tea party ever!
So Ella made up some beautiful invitations (with a little help from her mom), and made sure to include all the necessary information that she would need for her fancy tea party. For instance - when would it be?
Saturday June 26, 2010 at 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Where would it be?
Ella's house
And Ella made sure to tell her friends that instead of a gift, she would love it if her friends would bring some non-perishable food items so she could donate them to kids who aren't quite as lucky as she was.
(Her mom added that parents were welcome to come to the fancy tea party, and while Ella's friends were enjoying themselves (being all fancy that is), the moms could sip wine, nibble on some goodies and watch a movie)
The very next day at school Ella handed out the invitations to her very special friends. Then she patiently waited for them to RSVP (that's a fancy way of saying "Please let us know if you will come!"), and guess what?
...Well, you tell us! Are you coming?

The 'girls'
Craft time (decorating their boxes - that were later filled with a real china tea cup to take home, with a home-made tea bag filled with candies inside!)
Just playin'!
After they got to make their crafts (and 'Fancy Nancy workbooks!), we sat and talked about being 'fancy'. Then I read them an email I got FROM Fancy Nancy! Boy were they impressed! And they learned 3 French words! (Everything sounds fancy in French!) It was very exciting. Lastly I read them the Fancy Nancy book we have.

Ella, ready for the 'tea party' part!!
The table: jam sandwiches cut into shapes, pinwheel banana/pb&j and cucumber & cream cheese. Iced tea in the tea pot!
Candy sushi
Yummy fruit
The girls all ready!

Halle
Ella-Bells
Chloe
Ava
And Madi!
Midway through the tea party, Ella puked. Yup - right in the middle of the celebrations, her stomache got the best of her, and everything came up. Oops...! But we recovered really quickly, and she was good-to-go again. (Right after Callie leaned over to Halle and said: "It's ok, I just puked a couple days ago"!!!) ((Too much excitement from the last few days, plus she was very excited and I think drank too much iced tea (first time!) - too fast. Poor thing!)

This is 'post' the incident now...singing 'Happy Birthday!'
She made a wish, and blew them out - left one though. Ugh...boyfriends here we come!

After the tea party the girls came downstairs and put on a number of plays and dances, including quite a few clothing changes...

Finally, Ella in the midst of her non-perishable food items all her girlfriends brought! (Plus a couple small gifts that came too) She's one happy (and tired) girl. :)

What a blast. I can't wait to get organizing the next one!!!!!!! :D

Shhh...don't tell Rick! 11:55 AM

Last time I volunteered in Ella's class, we made Father's Day crafts. They are called 'Chia Heads'. You know "Cha-cha Chia!" But the make-your-own kind. ;) It was really fun making them and they turned out really cute!

Here is Ella's for Daddy!
And Ella's BFF Chloe with hers for her Daddy!

Soccer Wednesdays... 7:08 AM

We had another soccer game last night! I LOVE being a soccer mom!!! :D
