Kindergarten, vs. Kinder Eggs...? 6:57 AM

FINALLY I had a moment to finish my doll. She's not perfect, but pretty good for my first try, and Ella LOVES her - which is really nice. She held her ALL day yesterday, and has to sleep with her every night. The only thing left is maybe to add a little pink flower to her dress, but otherwise she's done! Yippee!!!
Now I'm onto making my purple bunny. I'm hoping I can easily find these 'safety eyes' and some synthetic beans to put in it's bum and appendages...we'll see!

This morning on our way to the babysitters, I told Max that I have Friday off, and I'm taking him to see a Kindergarten class!! I thought he would be quite excited, but he hesitated (thinking) and then said: "So, do we get Kinder Eggs when I got to Kindergarten?"
LMAO!!! I then explained that it wasn't quite the same thing, and he tried to assure me that he would like a Kinder Egg at kindergarten because he really liked chocolate, and there was lots of chocolate in a Kinder Egg. Oh, my boy!!

Zoe is completely blowing me away with her speech, and the sheer amount of learning she has done lately. She is counting ALL THE TIME...she can make it to 19 (with a few breaks) already!! My little smarty-pants!!! She is also singing constantly. Both Rick and I laugh every time...always a different song (she's learning a lot of new songs from Early Years - the babysitter takes them there almost every day), and she's pretty good at them, considering I can figure out which song it is pretty easily! Wow...

I'm just dying to know this new little baby. I can't WAIT for him/her to come out and show us what he/she looks like and who he/she will be like! So far Ella is like my mom (through and through) but looks like her Aunt Dianne. Max looks like Rick, acts like Rick...pretty much a tiny version of Rick...! Zoe still looks like Rick, but acts like me. I secretly like that, even though she's got my stubbornness among other issues...LOL!!! At least I understand her, so that's good right?

Ok, I'm ready. 7:49 AM

My cousin is having her first baby - and she's due in 3 weeks. I decided to attempt a baby blanket for her, but I find that I get so easily bored with doing plain rows back and forth...that it's taken me a while to finish it. PLUS, I made it too big, so it's taking extra long! BUT...I finished it this weekend! YEAH! Ok, NOW she can have her baby! I'll let you guess the sex of the baby...
Can I just mention that this is a DECENT picture of all 3 of them?!?!? Whoa...I'm impressed. (LOVE Zoe's purse, and baby. They go EVERYWHERE with her...!)
Oh, and LOL I'm SURE that Max isn't signing "I love you" on purpose, but I'm just going to go with it. ;)

Ella, on the other hand, IS. (Bed-head and all!)

Zoe LOVES her stroller, and is very frustrated that it's only a downstairs toy. She totally gets her doll fascination from her GG Doris I think. She has a baby or a stuffy under her arm, pretty much all the time. Now, please let me explain, this is a DOLL stroller, but sometimes Zo-J forgets that she is HUMAN and NOT a doll, so she puts herself in the stroller, then can't get out. It's really quite funny...

And here we have Mr. Max modeling Grandma Jennie's new hat. I'm really hoping this is what she is looking for. She gave me a rough explanation of the hat she saw, and wants...so we'll see when I give it to her! At least I know it's the right colour...
Maxwell, my little artist is wearing it quite well, don't you think? (He was quite into his movie, so no eye contact that morning.)

Ella, on the other hand, can be coerced into modeling anytime, anywhere. She looks quite Français, non?

And the back. It didn't photograph very well. I do love hot heavy it is. Let's hope Jennie likes it!!!! *crossed fingers*

This is the way I like my ham... 7:38 AM

Last night I stayed up past my bedtime so I could finish Max's new triceratops hat, and I'm SO glad I did!! He LOVED it this morning! Sooo worth it!!!

I told him I needed to take his picture quickly before we left, and boy can he be a 'ham'!! These were too funny, so I'm including lots of pics of my 'ham'. This may be the ONLY thing that differs Max from his father, although I wonder if Rick was like this when he was 3? Doubtful. This must be his one and only trait from his mother...tee hee!!!

********************
This morning Rick told me the snow had melted enough so we could now see all the 'trails' in our backyard. What? I had no idea what he was talking about. Then he showed me:
(Ella is pointing them out for me - note her hair she did all by herself this morning? Beeeautiful...LOL!)

Turns out we obviously have mice or moles living in our backyard, and they had made little tunnels under the snow!!! It looked pretty cool to see them all!

Crazy, crazy children I say. 7:05 AM

Last night Ella desperately wanted to do a photo shoot. She kept showing me all her poses, and wanted me to take pics of her! It was really cute! So...I did! The other 2 wanted in on the action as well, of course!

Max has the CRAZIEST faces...he is hilarious! Even this morning as Rick was trying to scold him, he was trying to hold back the laughter while Max was mocking him...LOL!!

Zoe wanted in on the action. So she got her new hat, and tried desperately to put it on herself...it was very frustrating. Poor thing!

Finally Mommy stopped laughing at her, and helped her put it on. ;)

Twirling, twirling...!

I honestly have no idea what is going on in this pic, but I thought it looked funny, so I'm including it. :)

And... my sweet boy!

A pixie hat for my little Pixie... 5:48 AM

This weekend I got a new pattern for a "Pixie" hat. I was so excited to get it started! I ended up making it a little too big (kind of on purpose!) so it ended up being for Zo-J. Last night I put the finishing touches on it, and this morning I couldn't WAIT for her to wear it! She's really good about wearing a hat - but ONLY if she's going outside. Wear one for a photo shoot? Nooooooooooooooooo...!!! She sooo reminds me of MYSELF!! LOL!

Anyway, as we were getting ready to leave, I popped the hat on her. And unlike other hats, she wanted NOTHING to do with it!! She kept asking for her "diddy hat" (aka: kitty hat) instead. Oh well...it's still cute. And of course Ella wants one now...!!

Max didn't want to be left out of all the action, so here's my boy!

Disney on Ice, poop & pizza. 10:04 AM

Saturday we took the kids to Disney on Ice at the JLC. I scored $15 tickets at the last minute, and Zo-J was free because she was under two!! I was really excited that Rick wanted to go too...a fun family outing! PLUS, we were going to go out for dinner afterwards, and generally enjoy the day with the kids.

Well, it didn't quite work out that way. We did make it to Disney on Ice - and the kids were GREAT. I can't say Max was 'over the moon' for it like Ella, or even Zoe (Zoe LOVED it!!), but he tolerated it. He couldn't be more like his Dad if he tried... ;)

While we were watching the show, it started to snow, a lot. So by the time it was over, we belined it home - deciding on pizza at home instead of going out.

So, simple plan: bath first, then dinner after. (With lots of snacks inbetween to get them through!)

Well, the bath thing started out well. Rick had to go snow-blow outside, so I started with Zoe and Max in the bath. They were done, and Ella was about to get in when Zoe POOPED in the tub. Yuck. It's not the first time, but oooh, how I detest it. I mean, it's poop. Ugh.
I VERY quickly pulled Max out (he made it out unscathed! Whew!), then pulled Zoe out, wrapped her in a towel and took her upstairs to Mommy's bath to rinse her off. Then Ella had a shower ;)

Once the kids were all cleaned up, and I had thoroughly cleaned up the kids bathtub (and toys, and mat, and done a load of laundry...) we waited for the pizza. ...and waited. ...and waited. I was just about to give up and send the kids to bed when it arrived. Whew!! They ate their fill and we sent them off to bed. I've never been so happy to see pizza in my life! LOL!!!
